Jiří Pokorný specialises primarily in advising private clients and the creation of Family Office structures, trusts and endowment funds, family and inheritance law, corporate law, and public benefit entities.

In providing comprehensive legal and tax advice to private clients, who include the wealthiest entrepreneurs in the Czech and Slovak Republics, Jiří focuses mainly on the creation of the so-called Family Office, i.e., property management structures, which ensure not only the continuity and transfer of personal (family) property, elimination of “fragmentation” of family property (a so-called “aristocratic standard”), provision for minors or incapacitated persons, protection from potential creditors, participation in companies and cooperatives, but also the fulfilment of charitable purposes and public benefit activities.

Jiří joined HAVEL & PARTNERS as a student in 2017, started working as a junior associate in 2019, and after passing the bar exam in 2022 he became an associate.

  • Comprehensive legal advice to a major Czech entrepreneur in connection with the creation of a Family Office structure, including the involvement of a family endowment fund, the creation of a horizontal holding structure, the regulation of a marital property scheme, disposition of property upon death and disposition of property in the event of legal incapacity; the transaction value exceeded CZK 1.7 billion.
  • Comprehensive legal advice in connection with the implementation of a managerial incentive programme for a major Czech company engaged in the exclusive distribution of sports equipment; the transaction value exceeded CZK 48 million.
  • Comprehensive legal advice in connection with the establishment of a public benefit foundation for the support of education, health and social services and the subsequent increase of the foundation capital to an amount exceeding CZK 1.9 billion.
